BRANCH MANAGER

Hayley has been the Branch Manager at Community Bank Woombye since 2016, specialising in residential lending including home and investment loans. Passionate about helping customers make the most of their finances, Hayley works closely with clients to ensure their loans suit their needs while finding simple ways to reduce debt and build equity faster.

A strong supporter of the Woombye community, Hayley loves the town’s welcoming spirit, thriving local businesses and beautiful charm - especially during jacaranda season. She is proud to work alongside the branch’s dedicated volunteer directors, whose commitment to supporting local prosperity helps guide the bank’s community-focused grants and sponsorships.

Before joining the bank, Hayley spent several years overseas working in casinos with high rollers, including time in Greece and Russia. She loves travel, understands French well and enjoys bringing her broad life experience and people-first approach to her role in the community.

SALES MANAGER

Lisa is the Customer Relationship Officer at Community Bank Woombye, where she enjoys opening accounts, helping customers and meeting new people every day. With almost 20 years of banking experience across two stints in the industry, Lisa brings extensive knowledge of banking products, policies and procedures, making her a trusted and familiar face for customers needing support with all things banking.

Lisa loves being part of the Woombye community, describing it as a welcoming town filled with friendly locals and supportive business owners. She values the strong relationships built with regular customers and enjoys working in a community-focused environment where people genuinely know and support one another.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys camping, water skiing and travelling around Australia with her family. Much of her free time is also spent cheering on her grandchildren at their sports, including Nippers, swimming and netball. Friendly, approachable and experienced, Lisa is passionate about delivering great customer service and helping locals feel confident with their banking.

CUSTOMER SERVICE ADVISOR

Jackson is a Customer Service Officer at Community Bank Woombye, where he enjoys helping customers with their everyday banking needs and being part of the friendly local community.

Being part of the Woombye community is something Jackson values, especially the strong local spirit and the relationships built between businesses and residents. He enjoys working in an environment where community support and genuine customer service are at the heart of what the branch does.

Outside of work, Jackson is passionate about football and loves spending time around motorbikes. Whether he’s on the field or out riding, he enjoys staying active and making the most of the Sunshine Coast lifestyle.

BOARD CHAIR

Stephen joined the board in 2016 after being invited by a then board member, and has contributed since with a strong background in finance and leadership. An accountant by training, he has spent over 20 years working in stockbroking and financial planning, and earlier in his career served as general manager of a small airline in the Northern Territory.

He describes his decision-making style as pragmatic and is guided in the boardroom by the principle: “None of us is as good as all of us.” He helps keep the organisation forward-thinking through wide reading, attending conferences, and staying engaged with Bendigo communications.

Stephen values the opportunity to work with others who share a strong commitment to community, and he most enjoys collaborating with both the board and leadership team toward that shared purpose. He keeps governance practical and effective by treating it as an ongoing focus, summed up in his belief that “inch by inch, life’s a cinch, yard by yard, it can be very hard,” with governance maintained as a standing item in monthly board agendas.

He is motivated by a strong sense of community and the opportunity to work alongside like-minded people.

DEPUTY BOARD CHAIR

Leigh brings broad leadership experience across community banking, telecommunications, health, regional development, and social enterprise.

A long-time contributor to community-focused organisations, Leigh offers strong governance insight and a strategic perspective shaped by work across finance, technology, customer service, and regional communities. His experience spans both corporate and grassroots sectors, giving him a practical understanding of how organisations can grow while staying connected to the people they serve.

Leigh is passionate about strong communities and brings a thoughtful, community-minded approach to his role with Community Bank Woombye.

BOARD SECRETARY

Sue serves as Secretary of the Board for Community Bank Woombye, bringing extensive financial expertise and a strong commitment to community involvement.

A Chartered Accountant, Sue has built a diverse career across auditing, corporate finance and the education sector. Her early career in auditing saw her work with a broad range of organisations including credit unions, universities, hospitals, legal firms, not-for-profits and commercial businesses in both Australia and Canada. She later moved into industry as a financial controller for a successful multinational company, before continuing her career in Australia as a Finance Manager within the education and childcare sectors.

Sue joined the board in 2025 after being invited by a fellow member and quickly embraced the opportunity to contribute her skills to a purpose-driven organisation. She values working alongside a dedicated board and leadership team and enjoys the chance to support and strengthen her local community in Woombye.

With a broad professional background and a practical understanding of governance and financial stewardship, Sue brings thoughtful oversight and a strong sense of responsibility to her role on the board.

BOARD MEMBER AND MARKETING CHAIR

Jill brings a strong community focus to her role as Board Member and Marketing Chair at Community Bank Woombye. Passionate about giving back, Jill was drawn to the board by the bank’s unique community model - where profits are reinvested locally to help build a stronger, more sustainable future for the region.

With deep ties to the local community and a professional background in healthcare, including intensive care and rehabilitation, Jill offers a thoughtful perspective shaped by accessibility, inclusion and understanding the diverse needs of people at every stage of life. Her experience gives her a unique lens in discussions around community impact and ensuring initiatives are relevant and inclusive.

Jill is guided by one simple question in the boardroom: is it good for the community? She values collaboration and enjoys working alongside fellow board members from varied backgrounds, appreciating the broad perspectives this brings to decision-making and strategic direction.

A strong advocate for fresh ideas, Jill is committed to helping the board remain future-focused by encouraging younger members to get involved and contribute new perspectives. Outside of her board role, many would be surprised to learn she has sailed across the Atlantic - twice.

Damien has been part of Community Bank Woombye since the beginning, joining the original steering committee that helped assess the bank’s feasibility and vision for a stronger, self-funded local community.

Damien brings a thoughtful approach to decision-making - gathering information, consulting widely and making considered decisions. Guided by integrity, he stays informed through ongoing director education with the Australian Institute of Company Directors and values giving back through community service.

His motivation is simple: helping strengthen the community and encouraging more people to get involved in making local places thrive.

Margaret is a Board Member at Community Bank Woombye and was drawn to the organisation because of its strong commitment to supporting the local community. She values the bank’s long-standing focus on strengthening community connections through funding local groups, initiatives and activities that make a meaningful impact in Woombye and beyond.

Before joining the board, Margaret worked in senior administration roles within the education sector, developing broad experience across finance, human resources and compliance. She brings thoughtful leadership, strong organisational insight and a balanced approach to governance and decision-making. Margaret believes robust discussion and careful consideration of both legal and ethical responsibilities - alongside the human element - are essential to leading a healthy organisation.

Margaret values integrity and fairness in the boardroom and enjoys working alongside a diverse group of board members whose wide-ranging skills and backgrounds contribute to strong, collaborative decision-making. She is continually motivated by the enthusiasm and effectiveness of the board and committee members, as well as the positive impact the bank has within the community.

While she describes herself as potentially quiet in style, Margaret brings a considered and thoughtful perspective to her role. Something many people may be surprised to learn is that she completed a postgraduate EMBA as a mature-age student - a reflection of her commitment to lifelong learning and personal growth.

Alison has been part of the Community Bank Woombye story from the very beginning, joining the original steering committee that helped bring the bank to life and continuing to support its growth ever since. Her long-standing connection reflects a genuine passion for community and a strong belief in the value of local people backing local initiatives.

A respected local business owner, Alison has run her interior design business in Woombye for more than two decades, bringing creativity, practical insight and a deep understanding of the local community to her role. Her involvement across a range of local business and community associations over the years has given her a broad perspective and strong local ties.

Having served as both Chair and Secretary since the bank opened in 2009, Alison has played an important role in helping guide Community Bank Woombye’s journey.
